Gladstone house fire kills three people, police establish crime scene
Three people have died after a house burned down in central Queensland.
In the Gladstone suburb of Toolooa, paramedics did not treat anyone at the scene; Media on the ground reported that bodies were recovered from the ruins of the building.
Emergency services were called to the house in Whiting Street just before 6am.
When the emergency services arrived, the house was on fire.
5 firefighters arrived at the scene in a short time and saw that the house was engulfed in flames.
Structural damage hampered firefighters’ efforts to search the home, and the fire was extinguished around 9 a.m.
It has been declared a crime scene and an investigator from the Queensland Fire Department will work with police to determine the cause of the fire.
