Austrian Grand Prix result: Lando Norris wins from Oscar Piastri to narrow gap in drivers’ championship

Piastri challenged Briton Norris in the first position after passing Charles Leclerc, who divided Ferrari’s McLarens in elimination.

At the end of the 10th round, Norris made mistakes at nine and 10, which gave Piastri a chance to enter the next round.

Piastri took the third place in the third place, only for Norris to return in the next corner.

And when Piastri made a late dive in four rounds on 20 rounds, he flirted with a disaster, locked his brakes and avoided hitting Norris’s car.

Norris made his first stop at the end of that tour. Piastri waited three more rounds before making and Norris looked under control along the middle clue.

However, after the last stops, their piastri started to close again with 17 and 16 laps.

Piastri, who left the remaining stop for four seconds, went to Norris’s two seconds with 10 rounds, and Norris went to the radio to tell his engineer Will Joseph to “need a little speed”.

Piastri frightened six rounds by Franco Colapinto from Alpine with six tours when he stayed on the edge between the fourth tours, but he was able to maintain the pressure on Norris. The Argentina was given a five -second penalty for the incident.

However, despite the damage to the front wing, Norris managed to balance the gap and hold on to the checked flag for a very needed victory, running behind his teammate two weeks after finishing his own Canada Grand Prix.

Piastri said: “I tried the absolute best, but when I moved instantly, it could do a better job, but it was a good war, it was over from time to time. It was probably a little further forward, but it was a good race, and that’s what we’re trying to win.”
