2 Persons Lodge Complaint with Hyderabad Police against Big Boss Show

Hyderabad: Two people have lodged a complaint with the Jubilee Hills police against the Big Boss TV reality show for promoting obscenity and misleading the youth.
In their complaint, Kammari Srinivas of Gajwel and Bagannagari Ravinder Reddy of Siddipet said that the show constantly broadcasts objectionable and vulgar content in the name of entertainment. Participants frequently use abusive language, display inappropriate behavior, and engage in morally and socially unacceptable behavior.
“Such programs have a serious negative impact on young minds and lead them to aggression, disrespect and immoral behavior,” they said.
“We are disturbed to state that this program encourages controversies, personal attacks and unethical displays for publicity purposes only. It encourages vulgarity, inappropriate dialogues and behavior contrary to Indian family values and cultural ethics,” they said.
According to them, the content displayed is neither educational nor socially useful; instead, it encourages the younger generation to imitate actions that harm their moral and mental health. By broadcasting such objectionable materials during family viewing hours, the program violates broadcast ethics and causes serious harm to public morality and social values.
“We also want to question the motives of Bigg Boss promoters, producers and broadcasters. It is important to ask what message they are trying to convey to today’s youth through such shows and why participants with controversial pasts are chosen again and again. Instead of promoting discipline, social values or public awareness, the show glorifies fights, disrespect and immorality,” they said.
“We believe that the content of the show is in clear violation of the Indian Penal Code and Information Technology laws. In view of the above, we request you to take immediate action by registering an FIR against the promoters, producers and broadcasters of Bigg Boss TV show under appropriate statutory Provisions and IPC Sections,” they said.
“We also request you to recommend to the higher authorities and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting that the ongoing season of Bigg Boss be suspended or banned to prevent further harm to society. As responsible citizens, we believe that freedom of expression should not be misused to promote vulgarity and moral corruption. Such programs not only corrupt public morals but also weaken the moral foundations of our youth and society at large.”
