Three men charged in connection with rape of woman on Brighton beach | UK news

Three men have been charged in connection with the rape of a woman on Brighton beach, Sussex police said.

Officers received a report of the rape of a woman in lower Brighton at around 5am on the morning of October 4.

Abdulla Ahmadi (25), Iranian national from Crewe; with Karin al-Danasurt (20); and Ibrahim Alshafe, 25; Both Egyptian nationals from Horsham were arrested and charged with two counts of rape each.

Sussex Police said the men were detained to appear at Brighton magistrates’ court later on Thursday.

Det Supt Andrew Harbour said: “This was a rapid investigation in which all three suspects were identified through extensive investigative work. “I commend the bravery of the victim, who we continue to support with specialist officers.

“I understand how distressing this incident will be for the community and our dedicated partnership operations to protect women and girls will continue in earnest.”
