Rahul Gandhi’s father Rajiv Gandhi was agent of Swedish military company in 1970s: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Nishikant Dubey on Friday shared a document on social media alleging that former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was an agent of a Swedish military company. He added that this meant he was involved in brokerage in the 1970s.

In a post shared on he said.

Before Congress leader Supriya Shrinate launched an attack on BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, alleging a disproportionate increase in his wife’s assets.

Speaking on Thursday, Shrinate cited the Lokpal complaint against Dubey and his election affidavits, claiming that his wife’s assets have increased from Rs 50 lakh in 2009 to around Rs 32 million in 2024, while there has been no significant increase in the BJP MP’s income.

According to the Congress leader, the Lokpal bench asked him to respond within four weeks. He said, “Nishikant Dubey is a four-time BJP MP. He is the Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Communications and Information Technology. He is very close to the Prime Minister and the Home Minister and some serious allegations have been leveled against him. The Lokpal bench has asked him to respond within four weeks.” he said.
“The complaint against him states that his wife’s assets were worth Rs 50 lakh in 2009 and by 2024, her assets have increased to around Rs 32 lakh in 15 years. However, her income has not increased in this way, so this is a case of asset disproportionality. Your income has not increased but your assets have continued to grow. Where did this money come from?” he asked.
According to Dubey’s election manifesto in 2024, his wife’s movable assets totaled Rs 28.94 crore, while her immovable assets (at cost) were around Rs 6.48 crore.
While Shrinate claimed that the BJP MP’s affidavit showed a loan of Rs 1.2 billion, the alleged lender, Abhishek Jha, claimed that he did not lend the money to Dubey’s wife.

“In his affidavit dated 2024, he stated that he received a loan of 1.2 million rupees from a person named Abhishek Jha. Abhishek Jha even contested the elections against him independently. He claims that he did not give such a loan. This is not mentioned in his affidavit. So whose money is this?” he said.

Demanding an explanation from the BJP, the Congress leader said, “Lokpal is investigating the matter. However, as an MP, the BJP, as the ruling party, should make a statement on this issue and answer the questions of the people.”

Amit Malviya, BJP’s National Information Technology Department in-charge, hit back at the Congress, alleging that the complainant in the Nishikant Dubey case did not attend the hearing in the Lokpal court.
