John Pasceri, of Hockingstuart Epping, said it was a “fantastic result” for the “rare” Californian bungalow-style house.
“[The buyer] I fell in love with the period nature and spaces of the property and the north and south facing orientation, which makes it airy, bright and beautiful,” Pasceri said.
He said interest during the campaign came from first home buyers, downsizers and investors.

“The three-bedroom really appealed to investors because of the yield, and downsizers liked that it was a single-level unit.”
Pasceri said Preston remained one of the north’s most sought-after areas.
“It’s such a thriving suburb. It’s so accessible to everything, public transportation, shops, restaurants, that it’s really starting to get a little bit of a spotlight.”
A warehouse-style home in Albert Park sold at auction for $1,622,000 on Saturday following competition between three bidders.

A young couple moving from Hawthorn started a vendor bid proceedings before getting their hands on the keys, leaving behind downsizing auctioneers and an interstate buyer.
David Wood, of Belle Property Albert Park, said the home’s double garage and prime location made it desirable.
“It’s only about 500 meters from the village of Albert Park, which is probably one of the best villages in the area or in Melbourne… there’s a lot of people who really want to buy it and live close to it,” he said.

Wood added that the auction reflected steady demand.
“It’s probably representative of the market today. I think three people bidding is a good outcome… The market is really cautiously optimistic. People aren’t going crazy and the fear of missing out isn’t necessarily there.”
A flat in Melbourne’s inner east has sold at auction for $775,000 after a battle between five bidders.
Two bedroom house 703/32 Bosisto Street, RichmondIt had a price guide of $680,000 to $710,000 with a reserve of $710,000.
Bidding slowly opened with a vendor bid of $650,000 before slowly rising.
The winning bidder was a first home buyer who had recently returned from New Zealand and was working nearby; The direct bidder was the first home buyer whose parents had bid on their behalf.
Luke Saville from The Agency Victoria said the flat stood out for its space and design.
“It blended the best of both worlds. It’s a newer-build flat, but it has the proportions you’d expect from an older flat,” he said. “It’s just bigger, like the rooms are boxy, not little shoebox style bedrooms.”
He said that the campaign attracted great attention on social media.
