Morrisons revives 20% More Card discount at two popular food counters | UK | News

Morrisons has brought back popular loyalty offers at two food stalls, just months after quietly canceling them. This week, supermarket chain It celebrated the “epic return” of loyalty offers for fish and meat on Fridays and Saturdays. Discount application that allows More Card holder customers to earn 20% discount on fish and meat purchases on relevant days. it was previously phased out in May.

The change comes as part of Morrisons’ new Market Street format; a farmer’s market-style section of the branches, launched in the spring by group trading director Andrew Staniland. But the ‘Fish Friday’ and ‘Steak Saturday’ deals were revived following reports suggesting a decline in customer satisfaction associated with their withdrawal.

The chain said at the time that the discount plan would be replaced with greater value throughout the week, including new multi-buy offers and an increase in end-of-aisle promotions. General store reports.

The return of the 20% loyalty incentive, which was relaunched this week, also attracted attention on the Morrisons More Card app, promising shoppers “more weekend savings”.

Customers shared their support for the reinstatement of the system on the supermarket’s Facebook page, describing it as a way to win “great” deals and praising “lovely” staff for their help in the first few days of operation.

According to The Grocer, this step back comes amid a larger reduction in offers elsewhere for More Card users; research shows the number of promotions offered to members was 705 as of October 6, compared to 1,661 a year ago.

It also comes after Morrisons’ market share fell by 0.2% in the 12 weeks to 4 October.

A spokesperson for the retailer said: “We know how much our customers love our Fish Friday and Steak Saturday offer and so we’re delighted to be bringing the savings back to our More Card customers at our Market Street counters.”
