Pizza Hut to close 68 UK restaurants after falling into administration

Getty ImagesPizza Hut UK will close 68 restaurants and 11 delivery points as it loses 1,210 jobs after it goes into administration.
DC London Pie Limited, which operates Pizza Hut’s UK restaurants, appointed FTI Consulting as administrators on Monday.
But Pizza Hut’s global owner, Yum! Brands has agreed to save 64 restaurants in the UK, protecting 1,276 jobs.
Pizza Hut is known for its family-friendly eateries and salad bar but has been facing problems and previously went into administration in January.
A spokesperson for Pizza Hut UK said: “We are pleased to maintain the continuation of 64 sites to protect our guest experience and the jobs involved.”
Nicolas Burquier, General Manager of Pizza Hut Europe and Canada, said: “This targeted acquisition aims to protect our guest experience and preserve jobs where possible.”
He added that Pizza Hut’s immediate priority is “operational continuity at the acquired locations and supporting colleagues throughout the transition.”
