Dropped 153 Tonnes of Bombs on Gaza on Sunday: Israel PM

JERUSALEM: Israeli forces dropped 153 tonnes (337,307 pounds) of bombs on targets in Gaza in response to what Palestinian group Hamas said was a ceasefire violation, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told parliament on Monday.

“One hand holds a gun, the other hand reaches for peace,” Netanyahu told Knesset members. “You make peace with the strong, not with the weak. Today, Israel is stronger than ever.”

Israel said on Sunday it had launched a wave of airstrikes on targets in Gaza after two of its soldiers were killed in a Hamas attack. The Palestinian group denied having any information about the attack.
