A man was detained at the scene by the US Secret Service after deliberately driving his vehicle into a security barrier outside the White House late Tuesday evening. The accident, which did not result in any significant safety violations or injuries, led to an ongoing investigation by authorities.

The accident occurred at the security entrance of the White House complex at around 22.37 on Tuesday.

Arrest at Scene: Uniformed Division Secret Service officers arrested the male driver shortly after the crash.
Car Seized Safely: The Secret Service confirmed in a statement on X (formerly Twitter) that investigators fully searched the car and “found it safe.”

Investigation Continues; Cause Unknown
Authorities released only limited information about the circumstances and purpose of the crash, but said a comprehensive investigation was ongoing.
The name of the arrested driver and the possible cause of the accident were not made public. Social media photos at the scene show Secret Service Police investigating the crashed car, measuring the vehicle and taking photos of the damage.
President Trump Was In; No Lockout
The New York Times, citing the Secret Service, reported that President Donald Trump was on the White House compound at the time of the crash.
The Secret Service confirmed that despite the accident, the White House complex was not quarantined. Although the path to the gate remains closed until the vehicle is removed, the Secret Service insists security was not breached.
