Rishi Sunak to join Sunday Times as columnist

Rishi Sunak becomes weekly columnist Sunday TimesHe expresses a desire to participate in “a weekly conversation with readers.”
The former Conservative prime minister, who is currently MP for Richmond and Northallerton, will contribute to the paper’s business section.
His column is designed to cover a variety of topics such as technology, politics and economy.
It will be available in both print and digital editions starting this weekend.
“As a long-time reader Sunday Times I am honored to join a great team as a columnist for the business pages,” said Mr Sunak.
“In an era of profound change, I look forward to a weekly conversation with readers about the forces reshaping the world economy, from global politics to technology.”

Mr Sunak’s fee will be paid to The Richmond Project, an education charity founded by the former prime minister and his wife Akshata Murty.
It aims to transform young lives through the power of improved math skills.
His new role as a columnist was approved by the Business Appointments Advisory Committee, which advises ministers and senior civil servants on making appointments after leaving office.
In January, Mr Sunak announced he would start two new businesses in Britain and America.
He said he would attend Oxford University’s Blavatnik School of Government as a member of the World Leaders Circle.
He also received a visiting fellowship at the Hoover Institution, a think tank based at Stanford University in California, where he first met his wife.
