Abhinav Bindra to be a torch-bearer for next 2026 Winter Olympics

Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra was named the torch bearer for next year’s Winter Games on Wednesday.

The 2026 Winter Olympics will be held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, between February 6 and February 22.

“It is truly an honor to be chosen as the torchbearer for the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic Torch Relay,” Bindra wrote on page
“To bear this once again is both an honor and a beautiful reminder of what sport makes possible. Thank you @milanocortina2026 for this incredible honour,” added Bindra, who won gold in the 10m air rifle event at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

This will be the fourth Winter Olympics to be hosted by Italy.

This edition will feature 116 medal events in 16 disciplines; There will be an increase in seven events and an increase in one discipline compared to Beijing 2022.
