Dramatic video of allegedly stolen 4WD chasing police car through streets of Kununurra

Dramatic video has emerged showing an allegedly stolen Toyota LandCruiser chasing a police car through the streets of a remote town.
The shocking incident was revealed in the early hours of Wednesday, when police were alerted to a series of incidents in Western Australia’s remote Kimberley town of Kununurra.
Police received reports of theft, stolen motor vehicles and antisocial behaviour.
Authorities allege two Toyota LandCruisers were stolen from a commercial building on Poincetta Road and a Toyota Prado was stolen from an apartment complex on the Victoria Highway.
Police were told the two vehicles were driving carelessly and dangerously and ran towards the junction of Weaber Plan Rd and Barrington Ave at around 2am.
Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens but claimed the drivers did not stop.
A police spokesman said multiple attempts were made to intercept all three vehicles in the area between 2am and 5am, but the attempts were terminated due to public safety concerns and alleged erratic behaviour, including following police vehicles.

“The vehicles were abandoned and a number of people fled on foot but were quickly located and captured by police,” a spokesman said.
“As a result of this series of crimes, 8 children were arrested, 4 of whom were referred to the Juvenile Justice Team.
“Four other juveniles have been charged with various offenses and will appear in court at a later date.”
Police have urged anyone with footage to contact Crime Stoppers as the investigation continues.
