US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the Knesset’s move to annex the West Bank would threaten President Donald Trump’s plan to end the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza. “They agreed to a vote in the Knesset, but the president has made it clear that this is not something we would support at this time,” Rubio told reporters before departing for Israel. “We think there is potential” [it to be even] It threatens the peace deal.” Last month, Trump broke his silence on the possibility of Israel annexing the West Bank at a time of growing Arab opposition, vowing not to allow such a move. “These are a democracy, people will get their votes, people will take these positions, but right now we think it could be counterproductive,” Rubio adds.
