India’s most bankable star made Rs 5000 crore at box office in last 10 years, has most films with Rs 100 crore opening; not SRK, Vijay, Ranbir, Rajinikanth, Yash

Prabhas has the biggest box office gross among all current Indian superstars. His last 7 films in 10 years (Baahubali, Baahubali 2, Saaho, Radhe Shyam, Adipurush, Salaar and Kalki 2898 AD) have collectively collected Rs 5000 crore.
Prabhas is India’s most bankable star
Uppalapati Venkata Suryanarayana Prabhas Raju aka Prabhas celebrates his 46th birthday on October 23. He stands tall as one of the biggest superstars of Indian cinema. It has delivered two monumental ₹1000 crore blockbusters namely Baahubali 2 and Kalki 2898 AD. Remarkably, even his so-called flops are performing better than the highest-grossing films of many other Indian actors. Collectively, his last seven films in 10 years have grossed over Rs 5000 Million at the global box office. In fact, five of his films – Baahubali 2, Saaho, Adipurush, Salaar and Kalki 2898 AD – earned more than Rs 100 crore on its opening day; which is the highest for any Indian actor.
Prabhas became a pan-India star with Baahubali films
Prabhas and SS Rajamouli redefined Hindi cinema with the Baahubali franchise and delivered Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017), the country’s first true pan-India blockbusters. While the first film grossed an impressive Rs 650 billion worldwide, the sequel shattered all records with a staggering box office collection of Rs 1800 Million, becoming the second highest-grossing Indian film of all time. These two epic period action dramas together earned a phenomenal Rs 2450 million worldwide.
Prabhas had three consecutive flops with Saaho, Radhe Shyam and Adipurush
After the Baahubali series, Prabhas faced a tough phase with three back-to-back underperformers: Saaho (2019), Radhe Shyam (2022) and Adipurush (2023). Despite falling short of expectations and failing to fully recoup their huge budgets, each film still managed to achieve good box office numbers. Saaho earned Rs 450 billion, Radhe Shyam collected Rs 150 billion and Adipurush grossed Rs 400 billion worldwide; This is a testament to Prabhas’ enduring box office success. These three films collectively minted Rs 1000 crore at the worldwide box office.
Prabhas returns with Salaar and Kalki (2898 AD)
In 2023, Prabhas made a strong comeback with the intense action thriller Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, directed by Prashanth Neel, which took the global box office by storm with earnings of Rs 620 million. He followed this in 2024 with the grand mythological science fiction epic Kalki 2898 AD directed by Nag Ashwin. The film, which featured an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan, was a huge success, grossing Rs 1040 crore worldwide. Saaho and Kalki 2898 AD together minted Rs 1660 crore worldwide. Thus, his last seven films in 10 years have grossed Rs 5110 crore worldwide.
Prabhas has a solid list of films that can destroy the box office again
Next up, Prabhas will be seen in the romantic horror comedy Raja Saab, which will release on January 9. Another film that will be released in 2026 will be the war drama Fauzi, set in colonial India in the 1940s. Other big budget projects in his kitty include Salaar: Chapter 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam, sequel to Kalki 2898 AD and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit.
