Russian fighter jets breach NATO member Lithuania’s airspace as war with Ukraine continues, what happened next

The Lithuanian military said two Russian military aircraft entered the airspace of NATO member Lithuania for about 18 seconds on Thursday. The military said the two planes, a Su-30 fighter jet and an Il-78 refueling tanker, were likely on a refueling training mission when they crossed the border and entered Lithuania from the Kaliningrad region at around 1500 GMT.
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda called this an ‘IMMEDIATE violation of international law’. The army said Spanish Eurofighter Typhoon jets of the NATO Baltic Air Police had taken action in response and were patrolling the area.
