Sophie Cunningham hopes to follow Angel Reese’s path to fashion runway

Sophie Cunningham speaks her mind often. The Indiana Fever guard spotted WNBA player Angel Reese hitting the runway at the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
Cunningham said Reese’s historic move prompted him to consider walking down the podium with his own strut.
During a recent episode of the “Show Me Something” podcast, Cunningham praised Reese and revealed that he sent a message to her representatives about her potential appearance in the 2026 edition of the popular fashion show.

“This has been my dream since second grade.” Cunningham said. “I always wanted to be a Victoria’s Secret angel.”
Reese has been selected by Victoria’s Secret to walk the clothing and beauty retailer’s fashion show in New York City, where she will be the first athlete to walk the runway in the event’s history.

After making a guest appearance at last year’s show, Reese said she will now serve as one of the brand’s global ambassadors.

“I literally couldn’t stop smiling.” reese He told people. “It’s such a surreal and cyclical moment; just last year I was in the audience showing up on that catwalk, completely inspired and in awe of all the strong women who walked the catwalk, and now I’ll be returning as an Angel. This will be an unforgettable night that I will be forever grateful for.”
Reese added that she wants to encourage women to achieve success in all fields.

“I hope I can inspire women and girls everywhere and remind them that we can excel in our field, but also pursue our goals outside of it — and for me, that means walking the most iconic runway in fashion and entertainment,” the two-time WNBA All-Star added.
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show returned last year after a six-year hiatus.
