CPI inflation September 2025:

Prices people paid for a variety of goods and services rose less than expected in September, according to Friday’s report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the only official economic data allowed to be released during the government shutdown.
The consumer price index increased by 0.3 percent monthly, increasing the annual inflation rate to 3 percent. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones were expecting values of 0.4% and 3.1%, respectively. The annual rate reflected a 0.1 point increase compared to August.
Core CPI excluding food and energy increased by 0.2% monthly and 3% annually, compared to forecasts of 0.3% and 3.1% respectively; The latter remained unchanged from a month ago.
