UK’s Eastern Airways suspends operations with all flights cancelled | Transport

The UK’s local airline, Eastern Airways, suspended its operations and all flights were cancelled.
The UK Civil Aviation Authority said it was urging customers of the airline, which provides regional services from airports across the UK, not to go to the airport as flights will not operate.
According to its website, the airline flies to destinations including Aberdeen, Humberside, Gatwick, Newquay, Teesside International and Wick John O’Groats.
On Monday morning, the company filed a notice with the insolvency and companies tribunal at the high court of its intention to appoint an administrator.
Selina Chadha, Director of Consumer and Markets at the UK Civil Aviation Authority, said: “We would advise passengers planning to fly with this airline not to travel to the airport as all Eastern Airways flights have been cancelled.
“Eastern Airways customers should visit Civil Aviation Authority website For the latest information.”
In response to the suspension of Eastern Airways operations, the UK Civil Aviation Authority said London North Eastern Railway, ScotRail, TransPennine Express and Northern will offer free standard class travel to Eastern Airways staff and customers on eligible routes operated on 28 and 29 October.
To access this support, individuals must present their Eastern Airways employee ID, boarding pass, or flight confirmation to station staff.
