Brits will continue to see waves of store closures as many major brands close stores across the UK next month. As part of mass closings, shoppers can take advantage of the many closing sales taking place.
Much of the disruption is due to high street brands entering administration and rising costs. Poundland, New Look, Claires and Wetherspoons are just some of the well-known names reducing their branch numbers.

poundland
The budget brand has reduced its store count as part of a major restructuring plan approved in August. Poundland, which had 800 stores before the process, will reduce this number to between 650 and 700.
It has been seen that many stores have closed in recent months, but now the Sidcup store will join the list on November 14. Sun.
Ahead of the closing dates, customers can take advantage of various deals as the store offers discounts of up to 40% on products and prices remain discounted until the products are sold.

New Look
The fashion brand will close 11 more stores by the end of the year. Although not all locations have been announced, the business has confirmed that a store in Lewes, Sussex, will close permanently next month.
A New Look spokesman said: “Our store in Lewes will close on 8 November.
“We would like to thank all our colleagues and the local community for their support over the years. We hope our customers will continue to shop online at newlook.com, where you can find our full range.”
The chain, which said it would close nearly 100 stores for various reasons, including National Insurance increases, has already closed nine of them since the beginning of 2025.
Claire’s
Claire’s is expected to close 145 stores after it goes into administration in September. It is not known when the stores will close, but it is thought that many of them will close during the end of November and December.
The accessories brand launched its latest sale at closing stores, and shoppers were able to purchase items at up to 30% off.
Ann’s Cottage
Customers have just a few weeks to visit the popular surf shop in Falmouth, Cornwall, before it closes on Sunday, November 9.
A notice in the store reads: “After many wonderful years, we are sadly closing our Falmouth store. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all our wonderful customers for their loyalty and support over the years.
“It has been a privilege to be a part of this community and we are especially grateful to our amazing Falmouth team for all their dedication and hard work.”
Ann’s Cottage was founded in 1978 by Rob and Beverly Harris and took its name from the building in which it is located. Only seven stores remain in the UK and the latest planned closure comes just months after the chain closed its store in Wadebridge.
Quality Discount
Quality Discounts is closing its Norwich store altogether due to restructuring and a lack of parking in the area.
The store, which first opened in Anglia Square but later moved to Magdalen Street, was the first Quality Discount store before expanding to more than 50 stores nationwide.
A QD spokesman said: “This is an incredibly sad day for everyone associated with QD. Norwich is not just another city to us, it’s where our story began, where we built our name and where generations of families have shopped with us for years.
“We have always felt like a part of the community, and it is heartbreaking to say goodbye for now.”
The announcement follows many challenges associated with the ongoing development of Anglia Square.
The spokesman added: “We recognize that the redevelopment will ultimately transform this part of Norwich into a vibrant new destination and we look forward to seeing this vision come true.
“Unfortunately, reduced accessibility and parking during this transition period has made it impossible for us to trade effectively.”
Wethers spoons
Pubs have also been affected by the struggles on the high street as Wetherspoons prepares to close pubs across the country.
The Water Gate in Barnstaple, Devon, will close on 9 November, followed just a week earlier by Baxter’s Court in Hackney, London.
Punters in the London pub were left devastated by the news; one of them labeled it “utter nonsense” and claimed that the area “wasn’t very blessed with many Spoons to begin with”.
Another said: “What a shame. [I] “I went there often at university, I loved the ‘roof terrace’ upstairs.”
Both pubs, along with The Babington Arms in Derby, Kentish Drovers in Peckham, The Gray Friar in Preston and The William Jameson in Sunderland, were put up for sale by Wetherspoons in June.
It will continue trading as Kaşık until the bars are sold.
In other news, Wetherspoons has signed a new franchise agreement with family-owned Papas Group and will open 15 new pubs as part of the deal, including one in Gateway Park, Lincoln.
