Ravindra Chavan Set to Become New Chief of Maharashtra BJP

Mumbai: Senior BJP leader Ravindra Chavan will be nominated as a party president on Monday and will be the next Maharashtra BJP chief. Mr. Chavan presented his candidacy forms to Kiran Rijiju, who was appointed as a central observer for BJP’s elections. Maharashtra Prime Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the outgoing party chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule were present on this occasion.
When the party leaders are not nominated for the task, Mr. Chavan will be Maharashtra Bjp will be the next state president. Devendra Fadnavis said that the official announcement of a party as president of the state would be made on Tuesday evening.
Mr. Chavan, who is four times from the Dombivali election zone, is known as the close assistant of Fadnavis. The party is expected to end its desperate quest for a leading Maratha leader in the state as a maratha, as a maratha.
Mr. Chavan from the Sindhudurg region began his political career in 2007 when he was elected as a company in Kalyan-Dombivli Municipality Company. In 2009, Dombivali Vidhan Sabha was elected BJP ticket from his seat. He was re-elected in 2014 and served as a state minister who controls various municipal companies in Mumbai Metropolitan Region, including Kalyan-Dombivli, Mira-Bharendar and Panvel.
Known for his excellent organization skills, Mr. Chavan has been credit for the rapid rise of BJP in Than and Raigad regions in the last decade. In 2019, he won his third period as MLA and was credited in 2022 because he played an important role in the establishment of the Eknath Shinde-Fadnavis government. He was later accepted as Cabinet Minister with PWD portfolio and was appointed as the Minister of Gudian for Sindhudurg.
According to party sources, Mr. Chavan was promoted as a president of a party that took care of the civilian body choices in Maharashtra. The majority of the Mumbai Metropolitan region (MMR) is expected to go to surveys by the end of the year. A party leader said Mr. Chavan’s primary goal would end Shiv Sena’s sovereignty in the MMR region.
