Environment law overhaul apiece with Labor’s executive dominance

As the debate continues over Labour’s proposed revision Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act There is rightly a focus on the potential (negative) impact on climate and the environment, all in the name of eliminating what is increasingly becoming a political nuisance for the government; There is a broader context.
The government is not only proposing that there be no independent approval process as part of the reform EPBC – politicians use approvals rather than independent bodies (imagine politicians being decision makers on corporate regulations, media law or merger approvals) – but also have an override power.
