Seer Takes Autonomous Ride in Wipro-IISc Driverless Car at Bengaluru Campus

A viral video capturing a driverless car gliding smoothly around the RV College of Engineering campus in Bengaluru has sparked widespread excitement on social media; Users were amazed by the sight of the spiritual leader sitting calmly inside the autonomous vehicle.
The seer was identified as Sri Satyatmatheertha Swamiji of Uttaradi Matha, who was visiting the university and took a short ride in the driverless concept car during his campus tour. Swamiji, accompanied by a few others, looked relaxed as the vehicle moved on the roads without human intervention.
The project is a collaborative effort under the WIRIN (Wipro-IISc Research and Innovation Network) program involving IT giant Wipro, Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and RV College of Engineering. The initiative focuses on the development of next-generation autonomous technology adapted to Indian road conditions.
Sources confirm that the vehicle is still in development, with extensive mapping and testing of local traffic patterns ongoing to ensure safety and reliability. An official launch is expected in the coming months.
The partnership was formalized through a memorandum of understanding between Wipro and IISc; It aims to advance research in artificial intelligence, robotics and human-machine interaction. The RV School of Engineering contributes critical engineering expertise to the design and testing of the prototype.
The viral clip not only showcased India’s progress in autonomous mobility but also highlighted the innovative synergy between industry, academia and traditional institutions that are pushing the boundaries of technology.
