Girl, 5, dies after being hit by ute outside Sydney school
A five-year-old girl has died after being struck by a uterus while riding a scooter outside Rouse Hill Public School in Sydney’s northwest.
Emergency services were called to the school campus in Clower Avenue at around 3.45pm on Thursday to reports that a child had been hit by a car.
NSW Police said the girl, understood to be a student at the school, was riding a scooter on the pavement before being struck by a Toyota Hilux vehicle.
Multiple ambulance crews attended the scene along with medical staff and treated him at the scene before he was taken to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a critical condition where he later died.
The 42-year-old ute driver was taken to Blacktown Hospital for mandatory testing.
Both the vehicle and the scooter were seized for forensic examination. While the crime scene was being investigated, the police launched an investigation into the incident.
