All the houses Andrew could move to on Sandringham Estate as he’s evicted from Royal Lodge | Royal | News

Prince Andrew will be officially stripped of his royal style, titles and honors and will leave the Royal Lodge, it was announced on Thursday. Following a wide-ranging announcement from Buckingham Palace, the late Queen’s second son, Andrew Mountbatten, will be named Windsor and will soon move to a private estate at Sandringham Manor, the private retreat of the King and Queen.

As the leaseholder of Royal Lodge, Andrew has given notice to quit his lease and will be moving out as soon as possible. It was also announced that he would be moving to a property in the private Sandringham Estate. Buckingham Palace has not announced which house he will move into, but Andrew’s housing arrangements will be privately funded by the King. Sarah Ferguson, with whom he has lived at the Royal Lodge for more than twenty years, will make her own arrangements. Sandringham Estate covers 20 acres in the Sandringham area of Norfolk, England, in the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The estate covers seven villages and contains a large number of estates; three of these are believed to be vacant and could be Andrew’s new residence.

Sandringham House is one of the royal residences of Charles III. It was built between 1870 and 1892. Anmer Hall, meanwhile, is the main country residence where the Prince and Princess of Wales often spend their weekends and holidays.

Built in 1863, Park House was the birthplace of Diana, Princess of Wales. It was later run as a hotel by the Leonard Cheshire charity, but has since decided to go ahead with the redevelopment and work with Sandringham Estate to get out of the lease. This may be an option for Andrew as it is currently vacant.

Wood Farm has been part of the Sandringham Estate since the time of Edward VII. The late Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, lived at Wood Farm after retiring from royal duties in 2017. It appears that this property is also vacant today.

York Cottage, also believed to be empty, was built to provide further accommodation for guests. It has served as the estate office of Sandringham Manor since 2000.

As part of sweeping changes announced on Thursday, the King has sent a Royal Warrant to the Lord Chancellor to ensure that the Duchy of York and the Title of Prince and the Style ‘Royal Highness’ are removed from the Peerage List. A royal source said: “Given the serious errors of judgment shown by his brother, these decisions rest with the King.”
