ICE arrests two illegal immigrants wanted for murder in Texas, Georgia

FIRST ON FOX: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested two illegal immigrants wanted for murder in Texas and Georgia the same day, one of whom allegedly confessed to the killing after his arrest, authorities said.
On October 22, agents in Texas detained Honduran citizen William Machado. Machado had been wanted by local law enforcement for murder since 2022.

ICE officials said in a statement that Machado confessed to the murder during an interview after his capture.
In a separate operation in Georgia, ICE agents arrested Salvador Rodriguez-Mendoza, a Mexican national who was also wanted by the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office on charges of murder as well as two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Authorities said Rodriguez-Mendoza has a lengthy criminal record that includes multiple arrests for drunken driving, drug possession and driving without a license.
ICE confirmed that Rodriguez-Mendoza had previously been removed from the United States in 2000 and 2018, but illegally re-entered the country for a third time at an unknown date and location.
“These two criminal, illegal alien KILLERS will now face justice, thanks to the brave men and women of ICE law enforcement,” DHS Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
“Machado and Rodriguez-Mendoza have zero respect for human life and THERE IS NO PLACE in our country for animals like them,” he added.

“These are the exact type of heinous criminals that ICE arrests and removes from American communities every day. 70% of ICE arrests are charged with or found guilty of crimes in the United States. Thanks to the leadership of President Trump and Secretary Noem, these two dangerous criminals are no longer a threat to Americans,” McLaughlin added.

ICE said both men were detained pending the outcome of their criminal investigations.
According to ICE data, nearly 70 percent of people arrested in fiscal year 2024 had been charged with or convicted of crimes ranging from murder and assault to drug trafficking and drunken driving offenses in the United States.
