22-year-old criminal shot dead in northeast Delhi’s Seelampur

A 22-year-old man, involved in seven criminal cases, was shot dead in northeast Delhi’s Seelampur area, police said on Friday (October 31, 2025).
The incident took place at around 22.40 on October 30, following a report of shots fired. The police, who reached the scene, said they found a man lying with gunshot wounds near the Jama Masjid in the area.
He was taken to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Police said the deceased was Misbah, a resident of Jaffarabad.
“Forensic teams were called to the spot to collect evidence from the crime scene. A case was registered under relevant sections and teams were formed to identify and nab those involved,” a senior police officer said.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased had a criminal history and was previously involved in seven criminal cases, including murder, attempted murder, robbery and offenses under the Arms Act, the official added.
Efforts are continuing to determine the cause of the attack and to capture the suspects involved. Further investigation is ongoing.
