MCG remains silent for Ben
The MCG crowd fell silent to remember Ferntree Gully teenager Ben Austin, who tragically died while training in the cricket nets on Tuesday.
Players from both sides, umpires and representatives from Ferntree Gully, Mulgrave and Eildon Park cricket clubs stopped at the MCG to honor the young cricketer.

It is a tragedy that reverberates throughout the world of cricket as players around the world put themselves in the shoes of their parents and loved ones.
The silence was unique. It suits the young man.
Both teams wear black armbands in his honor.
WICKET: Hazlewood have three wickets as Varma goes
Varma tried to swat Hazlewood six times but the ball bounced on himself and slid off into the Melbourne night.
Inglis followed him around the flat and caught him.
Hazlewood has 3-5 out of 2.5.
India is 4-32 out of 4.5.
WICKET: Hazlewood gets Yadav
India’s top team is in tatters and a big part of the reason for that comes down to Josh Hazlewood.
He struck hard against the seam and was pulled from Yadav straight towards goalkeeper Josh Inglis and out of the way.
In the previous ball, Inglis had a great chance off Yadav’s gloves but eventually caught his man.
Hazlewood has 2-5 from 2.3.
Tilak Varma is inside now. The most dangerous hitter of the series.
India 3-32 from 4.3 overs.
WICKET: Samson is out
Nathan Ellis takes a wicket in his first over after tucking Samson into his crease and hitting it just in front of middle stump.
Ellis was very confident, Samson judged, but it was obvious.
India improved from 3.3 to 2-23.
WICKET: Gil is out of the game
It was only a matter of time for Gil, who looked far from his best tonight.
He tried to throw to Hazlewood and all he did was throw the ball to Mitch Marsh, who took an easy catch.
Sanju Samson is now going to India.
India are 1-20 in the third round.
Sharma finds the boundary twice
Sharma is a very explosive batsman.
He hit a boundary and then bowled a deep delivery towards extra cover and flew out for six.
Xavier Bartlett was very nervous at first, but Sharma took him on to get the job done.
India led 0-19 midway through the third quarter.
Gill hit his helmet but it’s okay
Now Gill was shot in the front of the helmet.
It almost hit the Indian badge, it was so flat.

Gill takes off his helmet and is quickly assessed by the media team.
He had a rough start, missing the first and second balls and was then bowled by a short ball.
Gill has a new helmet and appears to be continuing to play.
India lead 0-0 after 0.3 overs.
Rescued by jumping
Gil was saved by review as he found the ball had ricocheted over the stumps.
“It looked adjacent [out]” says Shastri on Fox Cricket.
However, Gil survives.
India 0-0.
Gill struck first but was asked to review
Hazlewood appear to have trapped Gill LBW.
The Indian star was disbanded but requested a review. Hazlewood thinks he has the goal.
Sharma and Gill open batting
It is no surprise to see Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma opening the batting for India.
The ball is in the hands of Josh Hazlewood for Australia.
It’s action time at the MCG, which is still filling up with fans making a late rush to the ground and their seats.
Ravi Shastri says of the commentary that it is “exciting at ground level”.
