Telangana Transco CMD Inspects Flood-Hit Substation Feeders

Hyderabad: Telangana Transco Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) D. Krishna Bhaskar inspected the flood-affected EHT substation feeders in Attapur district near Musi River bank and inspected the power supply restoration works in all EHT substations along with the director (Transmission) and field officials.

Due to floods and heavy rains, water entered the 132KV KM Pally sub station in Nalgonda district, damaging Feeder Partitions, Insulators, AB Switches etc. The equipment was flooded. Sensing the emergency, power engineers took immediate action and extended alternative feeding to loads from other substations.

Two feeders – KM Pally to Kodandapur and KM Pally to Nasarlapally were decommissioned by manual operation of circuit breakers to avoid accidents. After the repair work, all equipment was returned to normal and two feeders at 132KV KM Pally substation were put into service.

Also, due to heavy rains, the feeder from 132KV Narsampet to Gudur at 132KV Nekkonda substation in Warangal district was stuck and the feeder was reported to be faulty. Following the correction works, the 132KV Narsampet-Gdur line was put into service and the power outage returned to normal.

Since alternative supply was arranged during the above-mentioned malfunctions, there was no outage for any of the consumers in the above regions. CMD has directed all field engineers to be alert, alert and undertake emergency work on war footing.

Central fault teams are also kept ready at all EHT substations for immediate correction of faults. The CMD also thanked the engineers for their efforts in ensuring satisfactory power supply across the state and directed all personnel to be present at the headquarters to attend to any emergency.
