Women’s security has become a cause for concern amidst leadership tussle: Shobha

Union Minister of State for MSMEs Shobha Karandlaje accused the Congress government in Karnataka of failing to ensure the safety of women amid the leadership tussle.
Addressing a press conference in Bengaluru on Friday, Ms. Karandlaje alleged that rapes, sexual assaults and other crimes against women have increased in the last two years in the state. He claimed that, in fact, the state had witnessed more than 1,800 cases of sexual assault on women in the last two years.
The Union Minister alleged that police officials were not appointed without paying bribes to political bosses. Also, this payment is only for a duration of 10 months, she said, while maintaining that such a trend had crushed the confidence of police force.
