Police assaulted at out of control Halloween party with 400 revellers and gatecrashers

Two police officers were attacked as they tried to disperse hundreds of drunken doorsteppers from a Halloween party that had gotten out of control.

Police received several calls about the party being out of control after 400 people turned out for a gathering on Linton St North in Byford, south-east of Perth, about 9.35pm on Friday.

When police arrived at the scene, they found hundreds of drunk people around the party.

Police closed the party and dispersed the revelers, but two police officers were attacked in the process.

Police allege one officer was punched in the face and the other was kicked in the knee.

A 16-year-old girl from Glen Iris was charged with assaulting officers, obstructing officers and disorderly conduct.

A 21-year-old Thornlie man was charged with disorderly conduct, obstructing a police officer and possession of marijuana.

They will appear in Perth Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

Police also charged a 17-year-old boy.
