‘Undesirable’ Andrew saga could continue ‘for years’, royal expert warns | Royal | News

That’s because the former prince continues to be embroiled in scandals related to his previous friendship with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, which ultimately led him to the situation he finds himself in today. This is despite the fact that 65-year-old Andrew has always denied all accusations against him.
Speaking of how such scandals could continue to make news “for years”, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said the King’s action against Andrew provided “some respite” but was not the end of the Andrew saga.
Mr Fitzwilliams said specifically: express.co.uk: “This (the King’s actions) will not stop the headlines, but it should provide some respite for the institution of the monarchy, which is so important as a symbol of national unity in a time of political certainty.
“The King has been more forceful than expected, but the scandals involving the Yorks go back many years.”
He continued: “Every step in this unwelcome saga will still make world news in the months and even years to come.”
Buckingham Palace’s full statement dated October 30 read: “Her Majesty has today begun a formal process to remove Prince Andrew’s Order, Titles and Honors.
“Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. To date his lease at the Royal Lodge has provided him with legal protection to continue his residence. He has now been given formal notice to relinquish his lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation. These censures are deemed necessary although he continues to deny the allegations against him.”
“Her Majesty wishes to make it clear that her thoughts and utmost sympathies remain with the victims and survivors of all forms of abuse.”
