In an interview to India Today, Tejashwi Yadav said, “Yes, definitely” when asked if there will be a Deputy CM from the Muslim community.
The Muslim community constitutes around 17% of the electorate and could play a decisive role in the formation of the next government in Bihar. While Tejashwi Yadav was announced as the CM face of Mahagathbandhan Alliance, Mukesh Sahani was chosen as the deputy CM face. Mukesh Sahani ‘Son of Mallah’ belongs to Extremely Backward Class. EBCs constitute 30% of Bihar voters. Thereupon, the demand of the Muslim Deputy CM came to the fore.
What Did Tejashwi Yadav Say?
RJD Leader Tejashwi Yadav confirmed that there will be more than one deputy CM. ‘ he said.On the day of this announcement, Ashok Gehlot ji had said that if Mukesh Sahani is made Deputy Prime Minister, there will be others too. Concerns expressed by various segments will be addressed.’
He also said ‘Yes’ when asked if there would be deputy CMs from Muslims and Dalits, two of the major communities in Bihar. ‘We will take everyone with us and everyone will have a fair chance of representation,’ he added.

Both Mahagathbandhan and NDA released their Manifestos for the upcoming elections. NDA in Bihar released the ‘Sankalp Patra’ manifesto in Patna on Friday. A few days ago, Mahagathbandhan released its manifesto called Tejashwi ka Prann.
The first phase of Bihar Assembly elections will be held on November 6 and the second phase will be held on November 11. The counting of votes will be done on November 14. This upcoming election contest will take place between the NDA and Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) led by the BJP and the INDIA bloc led by Tejashwi Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj is also contesting on all 243 seats in this grand contest.
