Notorious pitch invader stands arm-in-arm with Kangaroos during anthem

Notorious pitch invader and serial prankster Daniel Jarvis pulled off another secret trick when he tricked Cameron Munster into strapping a gun to him during the Australian national anthem ahead of the second Ashes Test on Sunday morning.

Jarvis, the famous prankster who managed to stage major security breaches around the world, added the second Ashes Test to his list of achievements when he somehow took to the field wearing a team jersey for the anthem before Australia’s victory over England.

Jarvis has previously crashed the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics by dressing as a member of Team GB, but this time he donned Australia’s green and gold and joined Munster for the anthem before security intervened.

He was wearing his Australia jersey, shorts, socks and trainers and approached Munster as the team lined up for the anthem in the middle of Hill Dickinson Stadium.

“We have a superstition that me and Patty Carrigan stand together for the anthem,” Munster said.

“Someone tried to get between him and me and I said ‘no’. Then he asked me again, ‘can I stand next to you and hold you’. I immediately said mate. Do what you have to do. I assumed he had a corporate package or a deal with the Kangaroos that he could just show up for the anthem. Then I realized who he was. It was the guy who did this stuff on a regular basis. It took a while for it to click but it was pretty funny. He got me.”

“He tried to talk to me, but I didn’t do much to him because no one tipped me off that it was going to happen. It was a little weird, but I went along with it. He totally screwed me.”

“The security guards or one of the people working the grounds went and caught him and became quite aggressive towards him. I knew right away that I had major stitches.”
