Halloween Finds A Home In Vizag’s Youth Culture

Visakhapatnam: Halloween celebrations in Visakhapatnam thrive with enthusiasm, reflecting the vibrant community spirit of the city. Students and professionals come together to embrace the spooky season, turning November into a joyful celebration of creativity and connection.
City cafes and various college campuses have become vibrant hubs for Halloween events, hosting events that beautifully blend global influences with local culture. The growing excitement has also attracted event management companies that organize themed gatherings such as Halloween Carnivals, Halloween Parties and Spooky Nights. These events encourage attendees to dress up, try on makeup, and show off fun, spooky looks, providing a fun and impressive way to celebrate.
Event organizer Rohan Tandon observed a particularly positive trend: More women are showing interest in participating in Halloween festivities. “It’s great to see so many women willing to join in the fun. They buy tickets early and come prepared,” she said. Ticket prices range from Rs 200 to Rs 1,000, with special discounts to make the events more accessible to women and couples.
Trinath Samsani, who is hosting a celebration on the night of November 1, said his event will feature cheerful music and delicious food to encourage wider participation and tickets will be sold at a price of 200 rupees.
The appeal of Halloween extends beyond college campuses and attracts working professionals as well. S. Satvik and his wife Anusha, who attended the festivities, said it was exciting to be a part of something unique. Wearing an outfit inspired by international Halloween trends, Anusha laughed, “It’s okay if we’re a little late to the party; tomorrow is Sunday!”
Rohan also emphasized the sense of camaraderie between the students who captured the joy of campus life while planning their costumes and make-up together. “Vizag is a coastal city that welcomes new experiences and its people are truly open to global cultures and make them their own,” he said.
