Man stabbed in neck with fork
Brisbane has been spared the worst of the weekend’s storms, but the same cannot be said for other parts of Queensland.
Wedding guests near Bundaberg were forced to shelter in the venue’s cold room as storms ripped through the region on Saturday night.
“It went from zero to 100 really quickly,” wedding guest Maddison Hogarth told Nine News.
Hogarth said it felt like a tornado inside the shack at Camboon in the Banana district, inland Bundaberg.
“There was a lot of fear, a lot of crying, a lot of screaming,” she said.
“One of my girlfriends, she had her little baby with her, she called to the shelter under the steel table because she was so scared. Our people were in cold rooms, we had to put the kids in cold rooms. I had goosebumps, it was pretty tough. It was crazy, very, very chaotic and very scary.”
The building collapsed and people were trapped inside, but none of the 200 guests were seriously injured.
