Odisha worker killed, four injured as rice-laden vehicle overturns near Nandendla in Palnadu

On Sunday and Monday midnight, one person died and four others were injured when a truck carrying ration rice overturned due to a tire burst near Nandendla-Thimmapuram road in Nadendla mandal, Palnadu district. The ration rice was allegedly transported illegally.

According to police, the vehicle was carrying ration rice from Sathuluru when one of its rear tires burst, causing the vehicle to lose control and overturn. Many rice sacks fell on the workers traveling in the vehicle.

Bapun Malik (25), son of Kalind Malik from Nandapur village in Odisha’s Bhadrak district, died at the scene. Four others, including Prabhat Malik (30), were also injured and his condition was reported to be critical and he was admitted to Guntur Government General Hospital. The remaining injured were taken to a local hospital.

The body of the man who lost his life was taken to the Çilek Regional Hospital morgue for autopsy.
