Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (DY) issued what appeared to be a legal threat to President Donald Trump’s “60 Minutes” interview in an X post published early Monday morning.
Trump appeared on the CBS news show Sunday night for the first time since his lawsuit with CBS parent company Paramount. The sit-down interview was also Trump’s first interview on “60 Minutes” since October 2020, ahead of the presidential election.
Schumer called the interview “unhinged” and suggested she would file a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) over the editing of the episode.

“Perhaps I should file an FCC complaint against the White House for editing Trump’s 60 Minutes interview. This will use the same language Trump used against Vice President Harris,” Schumer wrote.
Schumer’s post appeared to reference Trump’s initial lawsuit against CBS News; In that case, Trump accused the company of deceptively editing a 2024 “60 Minutes” interview with then-Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of the presidential election.
However, Trump did not file a complaint with the FCC at the time, but called for the network to lose its broadcast license over the issue. The FCC complaint was filed by the Center for American Rights, which argued that CBS News’ regulatory decisions “amount to intentional news distortion” and violate FCC rules.

Fox News Digital has reached out to Schumer’s office and Paramount for comment.
Both Harris and CBS News were mocked by conservatives after it was revealed that the network had pared down Harris’ lengthy “word salad” response that aired on “Face the Nation” into a more focused, condensed answer that aired on a special edition of “60 Minutes.”
In a statement more than a week later, CBS News denied any involvement in the “deceptive editing” of the interview.
“60 Minutes provided an excerpt from our interview using a longer portion of his response to ‘Face the Nation’ than on 60 Minutes. Same question. Same answer. But different part of the answer,” the statement said.

Trump sued CBS News for $10 billion in damages, later increasing the figure to $20 billion, and accused the network of “deceptive doctoring” in favor of Harris. Paramount later agreed to a $16 million deal in July.

Although CBS News and Paramount have denied any wrongdoing, sources told Fox News Digital that CBS has agreed to update its editorial standards by adding a new rule requiring the release of full, unedited transcripts of future presidential candidates’ interviews.
