Samir Zitouni saved a life on the train

The name of the railway worker who is said to have saved many lives during the mass stabbing incident on the train was announced as Samir Zitouni.

The 48-year-old’s actions on the service from Doncaster to London King’s Cross on Saturday evening were described as “nothing short of heroic”.

British Transport Police said Mr Zitouni’s condition was “critical” but he was in a stable condition in hospital.

Anthony Williams, 32, of Peterborough, was charged Monday with 10 counts of attempted murder.

Ten people on the LNER train, which stopped at Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire, were taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.

The eleventh person later went to the hospital.

6 of them were discharged, and 4 of them are in stable condition.
