LEESBURG, Va. – Virginia Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears told the crowd at an election watch party in Loudoun County that she’s “not going anywhere” after her loss to Abigail Spanberger, adding that she hopes the next governor will govern in the moderate manner he repeatedly promised on the campaign trail.
“I think I learn more in a defeat than I do in a victory,” Earle-Sears said.
“I don’t think we were short-term success – I think we tried very, very hard – a lot of people had discounted me for a very long time and it’s been great to watch. And we just kept working.”
Earle-Sears said she called Spanberger, but Spanberger did not pick up the phone. He said he wishes him well and is open to volunteering to help the Spanberger administration achieve any goals that will make Virginia successful.

“I asked him to please consider all Virginians and represent all of us, not just some of us,” he said.
“I hope Abigail considers school choice, opportunities for our children to be successful; it can’t just be one way. How dare you stand on the doorstep of a parent who says I want something different for my child,” he said.
Earle-Sears added that he is running a race based on “fundamental ideas” such as eliminating car taxes, protecting children and their education, and expanding the economy.

“I don’t see it as a loss because… I’m a Christian first and a Republican second, and that’s how it should always be; no political party gave its life for me,” he said.
“I’m not going anywhere, neither should you.” he said, adding that Virginia is not a radical left state and intends to stay that way.

“We have to pray for Abigail, we have to pray for our government.”
“Actually, I shouldn’t even be here to think about it. I mean, I’m an immigrant from another country, and yet you all gave me the opportunity to do this,” he said.
Earle-Sears spokeswoman Peyton Vogel told Fox News Digital that she was “incredibly proud” of the outgoing lieutenant governor’s campaign and still made history by electing Virginia’s first female governor.
