‘Apko kya pasand hai…’: PM Modi’s sweet gesture toward injured Pratika Rawal wins hearts online

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reportedly personally served food to injured opener Pratika Rawal during a meeting with the Indian women’s cricket team and asked her “Aapko Kya Pasand Hai?” A heartwarming moment ensued in which he asked: This gesture won the admiration of the team and spread quickly among the fans.
The Indian women’s cricket team on Wednesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi following their remarkable World Cup victory on Sunday. India won its first Women’s World Cup title by beating South Africa in the final. PM Modi met the team led by Harmanpreet Kaur at his residence on Lok Kalyan Marg and congratulated the Women in Blue for their remarkable achievement.
The team was accompanied by head coach Amol Muzumdar and BCCI president Mithun Manhas. The discussion between Prime Minister Modi and the Indian players was filled with motivational anecdotes, laughter and words of encouragement. The Prime Minister took the time to connect with each player and learn their individual stories throughout this challenging and inspiring journey.
During an official dinner with the team, Prime Minister Modi made a touching gesture by offering food to injured Pratika Rawal, who remained in a wheelchair due to an injury sustained during the tournament. Pratika’s ankle injury sustained in the match against Bangladesh unfortunately sidelined her in both the semi-final and the crucial final, leading to her being replaced by Shafali Verma in the squad.
“Aapko koi kuch de nahi raha, kya pasand hai aapko?” Modi said while offering a treat to Pratika. (Nobody gives you anything. What do you like?)

In a candid moment during the interaction, Pratika shared that the team decided to win the World Cup in her honour. He expressed his deep appreciation to his teammates for their unforgettable gesture that put him on the podium during the trophy presentation ceremony in Navi Mumbai.
“When I got injured, the whole team decided to win the World Cup for me. None of the players in the team told me but someone else did. When I was sitting out and we won the World Cup, they brought me on stage even though I was in a wheelchair and technically not in the squad; I was the 16th player. So this team is like a family, when you respect each other and a family like that plays together it becomes almost impossible to beat a team like this. So we Rawal said he deserved to play in the final and win the final as well.”
