TRADE HAS BEEN HARDENED FOR Cowboys’ jet star QUINNEN WILLIAMS: ‘DALLAS IS DRUNK’
There were rumors that Williams was disappointed with the Jets’ performance, and no one can blame him for being part of a seven-straight losing season. But considering she remains a fan favorite despite her struggles, Williams still has love for those who supported her during her time in New York.
“New York will always have a special place in my heart,” he wrote in his farewell message to X. “To my teammates, coaches, and the entire Jets organization, thank you for believing in me and helping me grow on and off the field. To the fans, thank you for embracing an Alabama kid and showing love in every situation. You welcomed me with open arms and gave me a place to grow. Your energy and passion made every game unforgettable.”

While Williams is ready for his next step in the NFL, the trade itself surprised many; Among them was sports talk host Bill Simmons, who said “Dallas is drunk” after dealing away a 2026 second-round pick, a 2027 first-round pick and Mazi Smith in exchange for Williams.
The Cowboys were 3-5-1 after losing at home to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 9, but owner Jerry Jones made a move to add Williams to a struggling defense that could use help across the board. Dallas ranks 31st this season in both yards and points allowed per game.
