Celebrity Traitors winner revealed! Epic finale sees one contestant scoop the £87,500 prize

Alan Carr has won Celebrity Traitors after a nail-biting final on Thursday night.

The hapless comedian, 49, had been among the bookies’ favourites to win, having managed to remain undetected throughout the competition while carrying out two ‘murders’ in plain sight.

But he faced an uphill battle as the Faithfuls voted out fellow Traitor Cat Burns, 25, earlier in the game, leaving him the last one standing.

After managing to convince Nick Mohammed and David Olusoga he was a Faithful and in doing so ending the game, Alan burst into tears when host Claudia Winkleman asked him to finally reveal his true identity.

Revealing the betrayal had been ‘tearing me apart’ a stunned Nick held his hand to mouth in shock, while David Olusoga was – to quote Kate Garraway – ‘flabbergasted’.

The comedian said: ‘I was awful, I had no poker face but here I am. Maybe I do exaggerate a showbiz story now and again. But to just lie to people’s faces, it was tough’.

Fans of the show took to X to comment on the epic scenes, sharing their disbelief as to how Alan managed to win.

One wrote: ‘Well done Alan. Of the Traitors you deserved it most. It had to be you or Joe. Alan played it all brilliantly from start to finish. Murdering in plain sight twice. He more than earned it. Great charity too.’

Others said: ‘How Alan managed to win it still baffles me but kept us on our toes for sure’.

‘Who would’ve thought Alan Carr would be the greatest traitor of all time! What an incredible series. Our people’s princess for life.’

‘Alan Carr was hiding in plain sight. Nick Mohammed how could you? I literally thought they’ve left it late but they’ll get them all! Blahhh! Never mind, great charity. Children’s brain tumours need a lot more research’.

In the episode, the final five – singer Cat, rugby player Joe, 35, comic Nick, 45, historian and broadcaster David, 55, and Alan – faced one last roundtable where suspicions ran high.

Joe, believing Alan and Cat were the Traitors, made a pact to vote against David while secretly plotting to expose them later.

Viewers watched with baited breath as David desperately defended himself, before the singer was voted out after Joe made a last minute U-turn.

Remaining traitor Alan told viewers, Cat’s departure had ‘thrown a spanner in the works’ as he had to battle it out for the win solo.

Suspicions a Traitor was still lurking in their midst was still high as the songstress did not reveal her true identity in her departing speech.

Reflecting on her time, Cat said: ‘I wouldn’t change a thing. I got to the final. I’m proud of myself.’

Nick then turned on ‘true Faithful’ Joe in the final moments as the final four headed to the firepit to cast stones and reveal if they thought there was still a Traitor amongst them.

In a shock change of heart, Nick said he doubted Joe after spotting him say ‘I’m sorry’ when he banished Cat.

Nick said: ‘I adore you, honestly I didn’t believe it but you voting for Cat is what sealed it, but I love you.’

He said: ‘I read it so wrong. It hurts to be stabbed in the back last minute like that’.

With just David, Alan and Nick, it was up to them to decide if there was a traitor in their midst.

David said: ‘I’ve never believed Alan is a traitor. The way he spoke about the suspicion has evaporated.’

Nick also voted to end the game. The actor said: ‘I genuinely believe both of you are faithful. I think we did it.’

At the start of the episode, the team managed to bag £20,000 to the prize pot after an action-packed train mission, which saw a carriage explode once the time limit was up.

Claudia revealed their win meant the total prize stood at £87,500.

In October, the hit series, which drew in more than 11 million viewers for its launch, was hit by a huge leak with insiders reportedly revealing who wins the show to friends.

A source told The Daily Star: ‘Everyone involved with the show agreed to stay quiet, but the show has a Traitor in its midst. They let slip who wins and the information has spread.’

They added: ‘It’s vital that key details about the series don’t get out. Everyone is hoping the leak stops telling people who wins as it could ruin the series for viewers.’

Fans of the show have become certain that Traitors, singer Cat, 25, and comedian Alan, 49, are set to be uncloaked after spotting ‘fatal mistakes’ by the pair.

Last week, Cat and Alan voted off fellow Traitor Jonathan, 63, at the roundtable.

The pair both expressed that they would be ready to vote out the chat show host after suspicions began turning towards him.

And they followed through with their promise when the Faithful stars stuck a target on Jonathan’s back by playing along with the group to uncover him.

But not before Jonathan could throw a shocked expression in Cat’s direction for her vote against him just before the finale, in a move that fans felt gave the game away.

Nonetheless, Cat doubled down and on TikTok, shared a video of her reacting to the moment shown on screen as she posed to a viral soundbite.

While fans were quick to get behind Cat for her decision, they admitted they had noticed Jonathan attempting to throw them under the bus in return.

Jonathan widened his eyes in shock at her, appearing to give the game away that the duo had been in cahoots throughout the gameshow so far.

His reaction made some viewers worry that the singer had made a massive mistake.

One penned: ‘Thank GOD because him throwing you AND Alan out there for no reason!?!’ as a second agreed: ‘His face when you showed his name!’

Not just this, but in the following roundtable, Cat voted out Good Morning Britain’s Kate Garraway in a move they felt further gave away her position.

Viewers felt it was obvious that host Claudia would have chosen a female Traitor at the start of the show for balance and, with Cat the last woman standing, put herself in the firing line.

One penned: ‘It seems really silly to me that Cat voted Kate out – purely on the basis that there have been no recruitments, and only one (male) traitor banished.

‘Anyone thinking about production would realise that they would have picked at least one female traitor- and she’s now the only female left!’

Another agreed: ‘I would say that it’s highly likely, rather than obvious, as we have had single gender Traitors teams in the past.’

While a third added: ‘This may be what Joe and/or Nick has picked up on, but it has not explicitly come up in any of the discussions that we have seen.’

A fourth continued: ‘They’ve all been so obsessed with the ‘Big Dogs’ that she might not have been thinking about whether they’d be thinking there would likely be at least one woman as a Traitor.’

‘Cat is also in trouble on the age front – it is likely production would have wanted a young traitor to attract a younger demographic,’ wrote a fifth, as a sixth concluded: ‘Cat is kind of screwed now.

‘There’s no way the others won’t figure out there has to be at least one female traitor.

‘I wonder if it was actually tactical to banish Kate because they were less sure she was a Traitor than Cat, and they knew there had to be at least one woman but potentially two.’

Last week, fans tuned in as Celia Imrie was brutally murdered in plain sight by comedian Alan, 49, at a dinner party celebration following the roundtable.

And Good Morning Britain’s Kate, 58, was sent packing by the group after being voted out by the Faithful convinced that she was double crossing them.

She was slammed as ‘useless’ for failing to bring any theories or names to the table throughout the previous episodes, which saw 11 Faithful murdered or banished, and only one Traitor, Jonathan, uncovered.

Host Claudia announced the reveal of her final five around a fire pit, where the group had to prove their innocence by telling each other they were Faithful.

While Alan appeared to give up his game by bursting into fits of giggles, attentions also turned to singer Cat, who has so far flown under the radar.

Former rugby ace Joe was quick to set his sights on the duo, and tried to recruit Nick and David to get in on his plan ahead of the final roundtable.

Telling the cameras after a tense round table that saw Alan and Cat survive another round, Joe, 35, revealed: ‘My plan involves getting really close to Alan and Cat so they keep me in the game.

He added: ‘Then I can pull the rug from under their feet at the last minute. Sorry, Traitors, I’m coming for you.’

Viewers praised Joe as ‘the smartest in the game’ as he correctly guessed the identities of the two remaining Traitors.

After Kate, 58, had gone, Joe returned to his theory from earlier in the day that Alan could be a Traitor and had just been slipping under the radar.

He then confidently confided in Nick that he thought Cat was too.

Fans of the show took to X to praise Joe for figuring things out as they penned: ‘Didn’t have Joe Marler down as being the smartest man in this game.’

Joe became more certain of his theory when Claudia told them they were the final five finalists and nobody would be getting murdered, before asking them to all individually tell the group that ‘I am a faithful’.

Traitor Alan immediately burst out laughing as he tried to repeat the words, which aroused suspicion.

Joe said: ‘It’s just another confirmation of what I’m thinking already about Alan. He can’t even look us in the eyes and say “I’m a faithful”. If that’s not a red flag, I don’t know what is.’

The Celebrity Traitors concludes tonight (November 6) at 9pm on BBC One.
