Fire at Turkey perfume warehouse kills six people

Kocaeli Metropolitan MunicipalitySix people died in a fire at a perfume warehouse in northwestern Türkiye.
Kocaeli Governorship said that the fire broke out in Dilovası at 09.05 local time on Saturday.
Provincial Governor İlhami Aktaş said in a statement to CNN Türk that five people were in the hospital, one of them was in critical condition and was being treated in the burn unit.
The fire is now extinguished.
Footage shown in Turkish media showed firefighters extinguishing large flames.
According to AFP, an eyewitness speaking to local television said, “I heard an explosion… I looked from my balcony and saw a colleague’s clothes on fire. I took a hose and extinguished the flames. Then I saw the flames engulfing the factories. Screams were heard from the building.”
Kocaeli Metropolitan MunicipalityThe cause of the fire in Mimar Sinon District has not been determined yet. Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç said that a judicial investigation was launched and the Ministry of Labor also launched an investigation.
Located approximately 70 kilometers (43 miles) from Istanbul, Dilovası is an industrial city hosting many warehouses and factories.
