Erika Kirk delivers heartbreaking tribute to Charlie at the Oval Office | US | News

Erika Kirk, wife of late conservative activist Charlie Kirk, gave a moving speech in her husband’s honor at the White House on Monday.

Kirk with Trump Cabinet members and government appointeesHe was in the Oval Office for the swearing-in ceremony of US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor. Gor was appointed US ambassador to India in October.

During the ceremony, Trump invited Kirk I would like to say a few words about her late husband.

“Charlie loved you,” she told Gor, referencing her late husband’s friendship with Gor. “He would be the first phone call when he found out if you were going to take this position.”

“It was absolutely humbling to be able to witness you two working together for so many years and supporting and supporting the president, and I’m so proud of you, and Charlie will be with you in spirit every day,” Erika Kirk added. “I will pray for you every day because I know this is just the beginning of an incredible opportunity for you.”

Charlie Kirk was assassinated during a speech at Utah Valley University in September.

Gor is a broadcaster and political strategist who works closely with Charlie. Before taking on the role of U.S. ambassador to India, he served as director of the White House Office of Presidential Personnel in the Trump administration.

At Charlie’s highly publicized memorial held at the State Farm Arena in Glendale, Arizona, Gor described him as one of his best friends.

“Charlie led with his faith and fought with his heart. One of the things I will miss most was receiving a message from Charlie every morning with daily Bible verses. Charlie would help set the tone for the day for so many of us. He loved Jesus Christ,” Gor said at the Sept. 22 ceremony, adding that Charlie “embodied the MAGA spirit.”

“Always fighting for America, never backing down. He dared to argue. Charlie wasn’t content to join the fight, he ran towards it and always did it with a smile,” Gor added at the time.

At Monday’s ceremony, Gor described his ambassadorship as “the honor of a lifetime.”

Gor said to Trump, “What you achieved in 10 months was a historic achievement, surpassing all other presidencies.”

“I fully believe that what you will achieve in the next three years will never be defeated,” he added.
