Oscar Isaac, who stars in Disney’s “Star Wars” sequel trilogy, said Sunday he would consider working with the entertainment giant again if it refuses to bow to “fascism.”

GQ magazine published the interview On Monday, GQ’s senior culture editor Alex Pappademas asked him if he was likely to reprise his role as Poe Dameron in “Star Wars.”

“I would be open to it, but I’m not that open to working with Disney right now. But if they could somehow figure this out and not cave in to fascism, that would be great,” said Isaac, who was one of many public figures at the time to criticize or distance themselves from the entertainment company.

“That would be great,” Pappademas replied.

“But if that happens, then yeah, I’d be open to talking about a galaxy far away or any number of other things,” Isaac added.

Isaac’s attitude towards “Star Wars” appears to have softened. In June 2020, he said he would only be interested in reprising his role if he needed “another home or something.”

Pappademas told readers in an editor note that the interview took place two days after ABC and Disney suspended production on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Kimmel’s show was taken off the air after revelations about TPUSA co-founder Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin sparked outrage, a warning from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and ABC’s two major partners pulling the show nationwide. Kimmel had mistakenly suggested that the alleged killer was a MAGA supporter, but reportedly claimed that was taken out of context.

The brief suspension sparked immediate outrage from Kimmel’s fellow late-night hosts and many prominent liberals in the entertainment industry. Kimmel’s show was rescheduled just a few days later.

Disney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
