Horror moment bin lorry ploughs into house in UK market town as police swarm area | UK | News

Emergency services rushed to a street in a market town after a garbage truck passed a house. Police, fire brigade and ambulance crews went to the scene after the vehicle crashed into the side of the property in Leominster, Herefordshire.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service reported a crash at 6.41am this morning to Bridge Street in Leominster, where five fire crews were dispatched. West Mercia Police confirmed the road was closed and advised people to avoid the area. The incident involved a garbage truck that appeared to have gone off the road at the mini-junction connecting Mill Street and Bridge Street. Although the West Midlands Ambulance Service and West Mercia Police were at the scene, emergency services have not yet confirmed whether there were any injuries.
A spokesperson for Herefordshire Council said: “At approximately 6.45am this morning a waste collection vehicle collided with a property at the junction of Mill Street, Bridge Street and Broad Street, Leominster.
“We are working with our partners to assess the situation. We are asking people to avoid the area so emergency services can operate safely.
“Our thoughts are with the people involved and their families. We thank the emergency services for their rapid response. There will be further updates as more facts become known.”
