Strickland lands monster 700m gold, zinc hit in Serbia
Strickland Metals broke its own records in Serbia by achieving an impressive 365 meters of strike as well as an outstanding 702.5 meters of continuous gold and zinc mineralization in a second hole at the company’s Gradina mine.
The monster strikes include the longest intercept ever recorded at Gradina and one of the largest intercepts on the company’s 7.4 million ounce gold equivalent Rogozna project, underlining the massive size of the project.
A cross-sectional view of Strickland Metals’ Gradina gold and zinc mine in Serbia highlights a 702.5-meter drill blow and a 365-meter blow in two prominent holes.
The company’s exploration efforts at the deposit aim to support the initial mineral resource estimate for Gradina by the end of the year.
Two tiered diamond holes were drilled at the south end of the deposit and did not disappoint, providing stunning analysis from both. The results also indicate the existence of much more gold and zinc to the southeast, still downtrending and open along strike, awaiting the discovery of a major growth corridor.
‘The hole delivered one of the most impressive results we have seen in Rogozna so far.’
Strickland Metals managing director Paul L’Herpiniere
In the extraordinary 700-meter attack, which started from a depth of 274 meters, an average of 0.9 grams of gold and 0.6 percent zinc per ton was determined. Within this, Strickland also struck a 48.9m zone grading 2.1g/t gold and 4.1 per cent zinc, as well as 17m at 3.6g/t gold and 2.4 per cent zinc, 12m at 4.3g/t gold and a massive 80m from 632.8m grading 2.3g/t gold.
The neighboring hole wasn’t bad at all either; It was drilling 365.8 meters of soil with a grade of 1.5 g/t gold and 0.9 percent zinc from a depth of 287.7 meters. One section returned 152.6 million at 2.1 g/t gold and 1.9 percent zinc; these include a series of high-grade explosions such as 11.3 million at 3.8 g/t gold, 28 million at 3.1 g/t gold and 40 million at 2.7 g/t gold, highlighting the strength and continuity of mineralization.
Strickland Metals managing director Paul L’Herpiniere said: “Our 2025 drilling campaign continues to reach new heights. Hole ZRSD25212 is a remarkable hole that has provided one of the most impressive results we have seen so far in Rogozna.”
The company says impressive drilling results confirm that Gradina hosts classic skarn-style mineralisation, where gold and zinc occur together with lesser amounts of pyrrhotite, galena and chalcopyrite in sulphide zones rich in pyrite and sphalerite.
