Mandelson still in contact with Epstein in 2016, newly-released emails show

Newly released emails show Peter Mandelson was still in contact with disgraced pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein as late as 2016.

The former British ambassador to Washington joked with Epstein about his birthday, eight years after he was sentenced to 18 months in prison for soliciting a minor into prostitution.

Keir Starmer has sacked the Labor ambassador after the publication of separate emails showing him sending supportive messages despite Epstein being jailed for sex offenses.

The new emails also show Mandelson warned Epstein to stay away from Prince Andrew for his own sake.

Beginning on November 6, Epstein sent an email saying, “You were right to stay away from Andrew.”

Lord Mandelson appears to respond: “Yes, there would be no nuclear if it wasn’t for Andrew.”

Earlier, Epstein had emailed: “You are 63 years old. You made it.”

Lord Mandelson replied: “Only. I have decided to extend my life by spending more of it in the USA”.

Epstein then responded, “Donald is in the White House,” just days before the US presidential election, which will see Trump become president for the first time.

“You were right to stay away from Andrew. I was right to stay with Reinaldo Avila da Silva, Lord Mandelson’s current husband,” Epstein later told her.

When asked how he was doing, Epstein replied, “I’m having a lot of fun.”

Separate emails published in September included passages in which Lord Mandelson told Epstein to “fight for early release” shortly before he was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

He also reportedly told Epstein, “I’m thinking about the world.”

When dismissed No. 10 said the emails revealed information that was “materially different” from previous information. Lord Mandelson was known earlier this year when he was appointed to the key role as the UK’s ambassador to the US.

But his allies were adamant that he admit to a multi-year relationship with Epstein during his vetting interview for the ambassador job.

Last month Sir Keir ruled out his peer taking any future role in government.

On a trip to India, the Prime Minister was asked whether he could see a future for himself in frontline politics. “I am not serving in the government in terms of future appointments,” he replied.

Lord Mandelson declined to comment.

This is breaking news, more to come…
