ATP Finals: Jannik Sinner beats Alexander Zverev to reach semis, Felix Auger-Aliassime overcomes Ben Shelton

In many ways, this match epitomized the gap between the world’s best Sinner, Alcaraz, and the rest.
Zverev served well, created many opportunities and stayed with Sinner for most of the match, but still lost in straight sets.
Whenever there was a break point, the Italian would simply knock down an ace or service winner. The German dominates a rally and immediately becomes too passive, allowing Sinner to break free and take control of the point.
Zverev had two break points in the first game of the match and had opportunities and saved each of Sinner’s five service games in the second set.
There were moments when he surpassed Sinner with his forehand, but these were very few.
Sinner finished the match with 28 winners and 14 unforced errors, falling just eight points shy of her first serve.
“I felt like I served very well in the important moments. I tried to play the best tennis possible when it mattered,” he said.
“Sascha played great tennis and I’m very happy with how I handled it.”
